2026 JAMAICAN AMERICAN CULTURAL ASSOCIATION CARIBBEAN SCHOLARSHIP FOR HIGH SCHOOL SENIORS
2026 Scholarship Application will remain open through Thursday, April 30th, 2026.
STUDENT APPLICATION
Please read this form carefully and answer each question completely. Your application will not be accepted for consideration of the scholarship if all of the questions are not answered in full. Mark N/A for items not applicable. If you require additional space, please attach a separate sheet and include your name at the top of the additional page.
Application Deadline of All Information & Documents no later than April 30, 2026.
CRITERIA:

Applicant must be a Charlotte (or any surrounding areas), resident.

Applicant must be a graduating high school senior in the year of the award

Applicant must provide documentation showing acceptance to a four-year public college.

Applicants must demonstrate sustained involvement, service, or leadership within Caribbean communities

Applicant must be a rising college freshman in the year the application is submitted.

Applicant must include a picture that can be used in JACA’s promotional activities.

Applicant must submit a 500–750-word essay, discussing how Caribbean and/or African American identity, history, or community has shaped their perspective and how you plan to carry that legacy forward

If selected, the Applicant must be present at the Annual Scholarship Gala to receive the Award.

If not in attendance, the award will be forfeited.

Please provide two (2) letters of recommendation, including one from the student’s high school teacher or an administrator. Please have recommenders email their letters to jacahelpone@gmail.com
